Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Founded 1916 by William H. Welch and John D. Rockefeller, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is the oldest and largest school of public health in the world. Every day the School works to keep millions around the world safe from illness and injury by pioneering new research, deploying its knowledge and expertise in the field, and educating tomorrow's scientists and practitioners in the global defense of human life.
The Bloomberg School of Public Health has been ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report since 1994, serving over 2300 students from 79 nations. The School has ongoing research in more than 130 countries. There are 26 graduate degree programs: 7 master’s (5 online), 3 doctoral, and 11 combined.
Every seven years, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is evaluated by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the independent accrediting agency for U.S. Schools of Public Health. In 2015, the CEPH Board voted to renew the accreditation of the School for another seven year term, ending in 2022. The School receives 22 percent of all grants and contracts awarded to the 58 accredited U.S. schools of public health.
