International Christian University

ICU was founded in 1953 as the first liberal arts university in Japan. For more than half a century, it has sought to nurture responsible world citizens. The university encourages students to explore and make important choices about what they want to study. There are 31 majors in the natural sciences, the humanities, the social sciences, and in interdisciplinary studies. Instruction is in both Japanese and English. Moreover, ICU seeks to cultivate intellectual and practical skills and the sorts of civic values that will allow its graduates to become actively engaged in helping to solve real world problems.
