Lena Patterson
Lena is Program Director of Business Development and Microcredentials at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University where she works with colleagues to lead the execution of the School’s microcredential strategy, and drive the expansion of this newly established portfolio.
Prior to joining The Chang School, Lena was Senior Director, Programs and Stakeholder Relations at eCampusOntario, where she was responsible for mobilizing diverse stakeholders to carry out collaborative, cross-institutional open education projects. She has six years experience in non-profit and higher education focused on online learning and technology-enabled teaching and learning, microcredentials, education and industry pathways, and open education. She also has eight years experience working in and alongside government.
Lena has her Doctorate from Western University in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on nonprofit leadership and organizational learning. She is the proud president of the Board at Open Education Global (oeglobal.org) and founder of Microcredentials Sans Frontières (microcredentialssf.org), an open international network dedicated to cultivating a deeper understanding of the design, development, delivery, and effectiveness of microcredential opportunities across the learning lifespan.
