I am an open textbook author (x3), open education researcher, and advocate for open educational practices. I helped develop Canada's first zero textbook cost programs at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and have worked with over 100 organizations across 5 continents to advance their work with open education, including with groups such as the Open Education Network and the OERu. My books include Open: The Philosophy and Practices that are Revolutionizing Education and Science (2017) and Open at the Margins: Critical Perspectives on Open Education (2020). Together with Dr. Robin DeRosa, I am a co-founder of the Open Pedagogy Notebook.
