To best inform our practices of integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence into education, what is a better source than the stories of how students themselves are using these technologies? Our featured project,Learning with AI, is an open collection of case studies contributed by University students from around the world. This project was edited by University of Leeds students and supported by a team of staff collaborators. It explores how students use generative AI as a learning partner and displays how open pedagogy empowers diverse voices to shape the curriculum itself.
Join us for a conversation with a professor in creative and open education, an OER librarian, and two students who contributed to this dynamic, student-centered project.
Learning with AI was designed as a “living book” and remains open for contributions from students worldwide until June 1, 2028. Since opening its call for contributions it has received submissions from 28 students across multiple levels of study and disciplines. Their reflections reveal how students are using AI as a learning partner: to clarify complex topics, engage in dialogic learning, support creativity, enhance accessibility, and build confidence.
