Organisation internationale de la Francophonie

The Organisation internationale de la Francophonie represents one of the biggest linguistic zones in the world. The French language and its humanist values represent the two cornerstones on which the OIF International is based. OIF organises political activities and actions of multilateral cooperation that benefit French-speaking populations. Its actions respect cultural and linguistic diversity and serve to promote the French language, peace and sustainable development.

An important program of its Direction of Education and Youth is IFADEM. Jointly run by the OIF and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie, and in partnership with the ministries of education of the countries concerned, the Initiative francophone pour la formation à distance des maîtres (IFADEM) is a program that aims to improve elementary school teachers’ French language skills and French language teaching skills. IFADEM supports international efforts to provide quality primary education for everyone. All the learning material produced by and for IFADEM is open source.
