OEGlobal Tour

Between October 14 and 17, the inaugural 2025 OEGlobal Tour was held, featuring insights into Open Education around the world. The OEGlobal Tour was a dynamic journey through various regions, showcasing the invaluable experiences and contributions of open educators who are making an impact in their local contexts.

What to expect from the OEGlobal Tour

The OEGlobal Tour is designed as a highly informative, whistle-stop experience that includes:

  • Scenic View Live Sessions: Scheduled per region, the Scenic View sessions combine thrilling discussions by open educators on the Open Education Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Directions with 5-minute snapshots of innovative Open Education projects. If you cannot attend, each session can be revisited later.

  • Knowledge Landmarks: Access (and add to) a list of newly published research, articles, platforms, events, and insights from around the world, providing you with the latest intelligence, trends, and developments in Open Education.
  • OEGlobal Tour Guide 2025: Stay tuned for our comprehensive report detailing global open education activities in 2025, to be published late this year.

Aligned with the OEGlobal Strategic Vision

The OEGlobal Tour embodies the three core aspects of our Strategic Vision: field building, knowledge exchange, and value co-creation.

  • Field Building: The OEGlobal Tour strengthens connections among educators and stakeholders to collectively explore and celebrate the reach and representation of Open Education across different regions.
  • Knowledge Exchange: Our regionally focused Scenic View Live Sessions, along with asynchronous contributions like Postcards and Knowledge Landmarks, facilitate robust peer-to-peer sharing. This fosters regional understanding, highlights research, nurtures local innovations, and promotes the sharing of expertise, ensuring the sustainable growth of the open education community.
  • Value Co-Creation: By collaborating with key stakeholders in each region, we ensure the OEGlobal Tour itinerary reflects relevant discussions about the specific contexts, priorities, challenges, and innovations in open educational resources, practices, and pedagogies.
