Nominations can now be made for the Open Education Awards for Excellence in 2021. For the last 10 years, the Open Education Awards for Excellence has facilitated the Open Education community’s growth through the appreciation and recognition of outstanding contributions to the education sector through the creation, adoption and distribution of open practices, assets and resources.
Celebrating the growing impact across the sector, this year there are four major focuses with 16 award categories in total.
Each year, the awards categories grow to ensure relevance to the sector and that the full range of open education in practice is recognised. This year we are excited to introduce the Open Infrastructure Award highlighting the importance of a wider ecosystem that supports open education.
In addition to this new category, the two categories that were introduced in 2020 remain equally relevant. These two include the Open Resilience Award celebrating open educational practices that have emerged from the extraordinary circumstances with COVID-19, and the UNESCO OER Implementation Award to commemorate the successful use and application of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Educational Resources.
