Nominations are Open for 2022-2024 Terms
Open Education Global is actively soliciting nominations for members of its Board of Directors.
We seek passionate educational leaders of high integrity who are committed to improving and transforming education worldwide through open educational practices.
We welcome nominations from OEG members that support and advance OEG’s mission and activities.
This year, five delegates have to be elected. Board Members whose terms are expiring are:
- Lena Paterson, Individual Member, Canada
- Katsusuke Shigeta, Hokkaido University, Japan
- Jane-Frances Obiageli Agbu, National Open University of Nigeria, Nigeria
- María Soledad Ramírez Montoya (Marisol), Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico
- Perrine de Coëtlogon, University of Lille, France
Open Education Global desires a strong, internationally diverse Board of Directors. Nominees from all regions of the world are welcome. This year, we particularly welcome nominations from Africa, Central/South America, Europe, and Asia.
Board members are expected to act in the best interest of OEG and its members in all deliberations.
Primary responsibilities of the Board of Directors include:
- Leadership and input into the mission, purpose, and strategic direction of OEG
- Securing funding and long term sustainable financial resources for OEG
- Advocating for and promoting OEG and its mission
- Growing and diversifying OEG membership
- Governance and monitoring of legal, financial and regulatory requirements
- Participating in OEG events
- Supporting and collaborating with OEG staff
- Supporting and evaluating OEG’s Executive Director
The Board holds four meetings a year, two of which are in-person (situation permitting) and two online. It is important that board members make every attempt to fully participate in all meetings.
