The Open Education Global (OEGlobal) Board of Directors election for 2026 has concluded. Four Board positions were open this cycle, and candidate profiles were posted on the 2026 Elections page ahead of voting.
Based on the results, the following four candidates have been elected to the OEGlobal Board of Directors for the 2026–2029 term:
- Paola Corti — 33 votes
- Beck Pitt — 28 votes
- Ta-Wei Li — 25 votes
- Inés Alvarez Icaza Longoria — 24 votes

Meet the Newly Elected Board Members
Paola Corti (Politecnico di Milano, Italy) is a Project Manager and Instructional Designer at METID, Politecnico di Milano, working on MOOC design, innovative didactics, and faculty development, with a particular focus on Open Educational Resources and practices. She has worked in digital and online learning since 1998 and, since 2021, has also supported the European Network of Open Education Librarians (ENOEL) at SPARC Europe, advancing implementation of the UNESCO OER Recommendation across Europe. Corti has served on the OEGlobal Board for the past three years and returns for a second term.
Beck Pitt (GO-GN, UK) is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Educational Technology (IET) at The Open University, UK, where she has worked for around 18 years across coordination and research roles on multi-partner, international projects. Since 2013 she has worked full time on Open Education research as part of the internationally renowned OER Hub, and she currently serves as Co-Director of the Global Open Graduate Network (GO-GN), which supports doctoral researchers and alumni working in Open Education.
Ta-Wei Li (Taiwan Open Course and Education Consortium, Taiwan) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and a longtime advocate for Open Education. He previously served as Director of the Open Education Office at National Chiao Tung University and as President of the Taiwan Open Course and Education Consortium (TOCEC) from 2017 to 2021, continuing as a TOCEC Advisor since. His recent work focuses on promoting Open Textbooks and faculty adoption of Open Educational Resources through international collaboration.
Inés Alvarez Icaza Longoria (Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico) is a Doctor of Engineering, Master of Design, Education, and Technology, and Industrial Designer. She is an Associate Professor in the Design Department at Tecnológico de Monterrey, as well as a Professor Researcher at the Educational Technology Research Unit of the Institute for the Future of Education. Her research focuses on Design for Inclusion, Educational Technology, and Design Methodologies, and she is a founding member of the Inter-University Design Workshop in Mexico City.

Voter Turnout
OEGlobal received 53 ballots from its 202 eligible voting organizations, achieving a voter turnout of 26.2%.
Next Steps
In accordance with OEGlobal’s bylaws, newly elected and re-elected Board members will assume their duties at the first meeting of the Board of Directors following the election, which will take place in September 2026.
