The election period for the Open Education Global (OEGlobal) Board of Directors is now open.
Earlier this year, we invited OEGlobal Members and Advocates to nominate candidates for the Board of Directors. Twelve candidates were confirmed for the 2026 election.
Meet all the candidates and read their profiles, motivations, ideas, and goals for OEGlobal.
We now ask institutional OEGlobal Members to vote for four available board seats. All voting will be conducted online.
Only one registered contact per institution may vote. If you are your institution’s representative, please select your four preferred candidates and submit your ballot for the four available board seats. If your representative has changed, refer to these instructions to update your membership contacts.
To vote, log in to your membership account at https://members.oeglobal.org. If you or your organization is eligible to vote, a link to the ballot will be visible. After you submit your votes, the link will be removed, and a confirmation will be displayed.
OEGlobal seeks to maintain a strong and internationally diverse Board of Directors. The organization reserves the right to weigh election results to ensure adequate representation from different global regions.
The online voting period concludes on 27 July. Election results will be announced by 5 August.

Take time to read each candidate’s bios, motivations, visions, and ideas for OEGlobal – it is fascinating reading!
Congratulations in Advance for those who will be elected and also for the candidates
Such a very fine list of candidates. Congratulations to all.
I am honored to be a candidate for the OEGlobal Board of Directors 2026, representing Palestine and the wider Arab/MENA region.
My vision is to support open education as a pathway to equity, inclusion, and resilience, especially for learners and educators in marginalized and crisis-affected contexts. I am particularly interested in advancing responsible AI in open education, strengthening OER/OEP capacity, and increasing the voice of underrepresented regions within OEGlobal.
I would be grateful to hear your questions, ideas, and expectations from candidates. I believe this discussion is an important opportunity to listen, learn, and build together.
Best wishes to all candidates and sincere thanks to the OEGlobal community
It is a powerful slate of candidates, and we are impressed that a number of our Advocate members have stepped forward to be on the board.
Here is the place for anyone to ask questions and like @Mahmoud candidates to make a “campaign” pitch.
