This year, from March 7-11, Open Education Week celebrates its 10th year.
Over the last decade, those who have contributed to OE Week have added to the astonishing growth and adoption of Open Education as a viable solution in the education and knowledge sector. In the last 3 years alone, through OE Week 23,701 people have attended an event or gained access to 653 events or Open Education resources, assets, and repositories. Please have hosted events or contributed open education assets from 33 countries in 18 languages.
The true power of OEWeek lies in being a collaborative, community-built open forum that provides practitioners, educators, and students with an opportunity to build a greater understanding of open educational practices. Annually hosted by Open Education Global, Open Education Week raises awareness for open education at a local scale by highlighting innovation and successes worldwide.
Open educators use this week, every year to spread the word about the benefits of open education practices and resources. It is also a prime opportunity to inspire new members and consolidate education-focused communities by hosting events and activities, sharing their favorite assets, and engaging in conversations with fellow participants on OEG Connect.
