OEGlobal is thrilled to celebrate the publication of the special issue “Open Education and Open Science in the Digital Age: Echoes and Horizons of the Dubai Declaration” in the Journal of Interactive Media in Education (JIME).
This landmark collection transforms the commitments of the Dubai Declaration on Open Educational Resources—a call for OER as digital public goods and equitable access to knowledge—into practical insights and forward-looking practices.
This issue is guest edited by OEGlobal Co-Executive Director Marcela Morales alongside OEGlobal Board members, María Soledad Ramírez-Montoya and Paola Corti, and long-time Open Education advocate, Rory McGreal.
It features diverse voices exploring how emerging technologies can democratize knowledge production and sharing. Marcela’s pivotal role in coordinating this important collection underscores her dedication to Open Education’s global impact.
Huge congratulations to Marcela, Marisol, Poala, and Rory, and all contributors!
“As we face the pressing challenge of shaping the education of tomorrow, there is a growing urgency to explore innovative pathways grounded in collective participation and designed for the benefit of all.”
