The 2026 Open Education Global Conference (#OEGlobal26) takes place October 7–9, 2026, at MIT’s Samberg Conference Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States—and online.

OEGlobal 2026 is cohosted by Open Education Global (OEGlobal),  MIT Open Learning, and the Massachusetts Open & Low-Cost Educational Resources Advisory Council (OLERAC). The venue, MIT’s Samberg Conference Center, sits in the heart of Cambridge — a city with a deep, intertwined history of education, technology, and ideas.

The OEGlobal 2026 Team is thrilled to open registration for what promises to be a landmark gathering. The global open education community returns to Cambridge for the first time since 2011, coinciding with the 25th anniversaries of several open movements, including MIT OpenCourseWare, Creative Commons, and Wikipedia — all milestones that belong to the wider Open movement.

The conversations at OEGlobal 2026 will help shape Open Education’s next decade, and we’d love for you to be part of them. We have more reasons for you to attend if you need a little inspiration!

“Universities are repositories of social hope.”

— Attendee, OEGlobal 2024

Whether you’re joining us in person or online, OEGlobal 2026 is built around five conference tracks covering open ecosystems, open content, human connection, global vision, and emergent technologies — with sessions shared by presenters who represent every region of the world.

Early in-person registration is $595 until August 9 — a $200 saving on the regular rate. Online registration is available for $195. Student in-person registration is $250. There are special discounted rates for OEGlobal, OLERAC, and MIT members.

We look forward to seeing you — in Cambridge and online — this October!
